It was certainly an emotional night for the German Football Team and the Fans as Bastian Schweinsteiger bid Good-Bye to the game he most loved and passed on the baton to his compatriot Manuel Neuer. We have seen and loved his game for the past 12 years and we are definitely going to miss the man in his German colours.

Bastian Schweinsteiger opened Germany’s account against Kazakhstan in the World Cup 2014 Qualifiers with a fabulous shot to give a lead of 1-0.
Germany vs Ukraine 2-0
With a neat assist from the Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil, Basti scored his first international goal since 2011 to notch up a win for Germany in the UEFA EURO 2016 group stage.
Germany vs Tunisia 3-0
Germany thumped Tunisia in a hardly fought match where the second goal came off a superb effort from a young Bastian Schweinsteiger which also marked his first international goal in a competitive match at the 2005 Confederations cup.
Japan vs Germany 2-2
A Bastian-header in the 80th minute from a free-kick by Bernd Schneider helped Germany avoid an embarrassing loss to Japan during an International friendly match in 2006 as they drew 2-2.
Portugal vs Germany 2-3
Blink!!! And there it goes!
This super-fast goal from the German midfielder set up the match for the team. He also ensured a win for the Germans by taking the free-kick, off which Michael Ballack scored a beautiful header and Germany marched into the semi-finals.
The “Midfield Motor” will be undoubtedly missed by the entire Football Family. Let’s hope that José Mourinho cuts some slack and brings Basti back in all red for Man-U.
