Cricket fans in India are very fussy about cricket and have immense respect for the game and all teams. However, we always have our favorite picks. Here are some of teams that every Indian Cricket Fan adores apart from our very own “Men-in-Blue”, of course.

New Zealand

There has always been a sense of fondness for the Kiwis in India, this is because they promise high-energy competitive cricket with the right spirit, minus the altercation and sledging.  Moreover, the teams friends spirit and explosive players like Brendon Mccullum and Ross Taylor always guaranteed a powerful match when they played. Two time winner of the ICC Spirit of Cricket award. Need I say more?

South Africa

The Proteas like the Kiwis promise a clean game with great entertainment, hence loved by millions here in India. Plus, blasters like Ab de Villiers and Duminy keep the fans wanting more. However, many Indians also sympathise with both South Africa and hope they see a time when both these countries manage to secure the World Cup for themselves.  They are one of the best teams in international cricket yet to win a World Cup.

West Indies

The West Indians bring in the calypso and limbo vibe into international cricket and hence adored in India and the world over.  Having overcome and succeeded in the midst of prejudice and unfair politics international cricket in the past, they have etched themselves in many hearts. The current team may lack the brilliance seen in their predecessors but they are very entertaining nonetheless. The likes of Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard, Darren Sammy and now Andre Russell have won over the Indian crowds and that is what makes them support West Indies.

Sri Lanka

The other men in blue of international cricket share a lot of similarities with the Indians and hence they made it to the list of Favorite Picks. Their cricketing style and the demeanour of most of their players reminds them of some of our own players. It’s always a pleasure watching the likes of Upul Tharanga as he reminds most of us about Rahul Dravid’s patience and calm while delivering some great shots.
