Mixed Gender T20: An Idea That Can Stir Diverse Emotions

In the era of feminism and equalism, RCB Sports drink comes up with a revolutionary idea of hosting a mixed gender T20 match. Therefore, the campaign #ChallengeAccepted aims to break the gender stereotype in Cricket.

Earlier, we had articles mentioning the rise of Women’s Cricket team and the nation’s stance for a women’s IPL, both of which screamed the fact that women’s Cricket deserves the attention. This is not only because of several broken social stigmas merely, but they also deserve it.

The talks of this to start is after ICC Cricket World Cup in England and Wales, the match already has four confirmed participants- India men’s captain Virat Kohli, women’s ODI skipper Mithali Raj, women’s T20I captain Harmanpreet Kaur and batswoman Veda Krishnamurthy.

“Be it, men or women, cricket is one game, and I want to urge fans to break the boundaries that exist in their mind that divides the sport by gender,”

said RCB skipper Kohli in a press release.

“Equality in sports is ultimately a reflection of equality in life, and if we want a better tomorrow, then we need to say #ChallengeAccepted and start breaking down all stereotypes.”

“Over the recent years, women’s cricket has made a lot of progress in terms of earning respect from fans and experts, but the playing field is still not equal. The true difference is seen when there is parity in opportunities, salaries, coverage and fan support.”

Women’s ODI captain Mithali Raj added.

“People say that women’s and men’s cricket is not equal because we are not able to face the same challenges on-field.”

Harmanpreet Kaur also echoed the sentiment behind this campaign and she said the above statement.
