Badminton service rules: A Quick Guide to Essential Rules!

For singles and doubles format, cross-court service is the initial rule. The first service of the game should be from the right side of the court to the opposite diagonal side.

When the score is even, the server serves from the right service court, and when it is odd, the server serves from the left court.

While serving, the height of the shuttlecock should be below 1.15 meters from the court’s surface. If it goes above that, it is a fault.

The serve must be delivered in a forward continuous motion once you begin your backswing. You can only pause at no point during the serving action.
