Joint Dislocation: What causes it and how to avoid it
Joint dislocation happens when your bone's end shifts from its original position. Any joint, including your fingers, ankles, hips, and shoulders, might get it.
It is generally caused by frequent wear and tear, such as that which happens during regular sports activities or as a result of jerking or vibrating impulses during training.
Swelling, bruises, numbness, severe pain, and an inability to make use of the injured body part generally are some of the symptoms.
Computed tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to identify tissue damage around the joint, and X-rays can be used in a physical examination for a diagnosis.
These injuries are emergencies that require immediate treatment. Protection using a cast or splint, ice packs, compression bandages, realignment, painkillers, surgery, and sufficient rest is required.
Preventive strategies include wearing protective gear, stretching and warming up, avoiding intensive play if you have a history of dislocation, avoiding playing through pain, and allowing your body to heal.
