Ashley ‘Judd’ Tyler Ciminella is an American actress and political activist, best known for an acting career spanning more than two decades, and involvement in global humanitarian efforts and political activism.
Judd has had leading roles in films including Ruby in Paradise (1993), Norma Jean & Marilyn (1996), Kiss the Girls (1997), Double Jeopardy (1999), Where the Heart Is (2000), High Crimes (2002), De-Lovely (2004), Bug (2006), Dolphin Tale (2011), Divergent (2014), Dolphin Tale 2 (2014), and Insurgent (2015).
Well-known for her infectious romantic roles, she comes from a family of musical performers. Her mother, Naomi Judd and sister Wynonna Judd are country music stars, and apparently she caught her “fitness bug” from them.
Love affair with basketball…
She’s a frequent and loud presence in the stands of Kentucky basketball games and — at least according to her social media — does a decent job of keeping up with the team during the off-season.
She even went on TV wearing a Kentucky shirt while plugging a movie and even offers scouting reports.
Humble yet healthy diet…
Ever wondered how she glows like a well oiled machine…
Ashley Judd’s diet is the vegetarian diet plan which focuses on consuming plants for food. These include fruits, vegetables, dried beans and peas, grains, seeds, nuts. Unless you’re looking to achieve massive muscle gain, vegetarianism is the way to go for most people.
Ashley prefers home cooked meals over fast food. She believes that preparing your own food helps you be aware of the caloric content of your meals. At the very least, the quality of the food is completely under your control and discretion which means fewer chances for things to go wrong.
Fitness, Zumba and AcroYoga…
Ashley Judd may look like she’s training to perform a death-defying act for an upcoming action flick, but the actress is actually perfecting a new fitness routine in a series of videos posted on her facebook and Instagram accounts.
Ashley, who looks to be in the best shape of her life, has taken up AcroYoga, which mixes yoga with acrobatics. Ashley’s mom, country star Naomi Judd, describes her daughter’s new passion as “Cirque du Soleil stuff.”
According to the founders, it combines elements of trust with strength building as participants perfect acrobatic poses while working on flexibility and balance.
“There is a joyful, beyond the mind, body melting away, suspended in time experience,” Ashley wrote on Facebook in April after spending two weeks on an AcroYoga retreat.
Ashley’s other passion is Zumba and she showed off her moves – and her rock-hard abs at the 2015 Zumba Convention in Orlando, Florida, in August.
“It began as just a little something good for the brain, with friends mentioning a class they really enjoyed,” she wrote in a Facebook post. “It has transcended brain work and become an experience of effervescent JOY. We laugh, hoot, shake, wiggle, and just happen to sweat like stuck pigs (sorry for y’all who aren’t country, that’s an expression I grew up with and it comes naturally). If you haven’t tried Zumba yet, consider stretching yourself and making a class.”
If you’re passionate about something as much as Ashley Judd seems to be, the sky’s the limit as far form and physical fitness is concerned.
