Virat Kohli vs. South Africa, 2014

At the 2014 T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli performed excellently. While they came in second place, Kohli’s continuous performances earned him the title of player of the tournament. With 319 runs scored, he was the leading run scorer. 

One of his best performances at that point came against South Africa in the 2014 T20 World Cup semi-final. It was an opportunity set for Kohli, chasing a target of 173. With five fours and two sixes in his 72 off 43 balls, the team won the match by six wickets.

Once again, the platform that was created for Virat Kohli to prove himself in the 2016 ICC T20 World Cup, and he did not let anyone down. Because of his outstanding feats, Virat Kohli won the award for the Player of the Tournament. He was in stunning form.

But Kohli was in his element, hitting 51 balls for an unbeaten 82 runs. Following his knock of 89* in the 2016 World Cup semifinals—the best score a batter achieved in his T20I career after reaching 1000 runs—Virat Kohli’s average for the T20 World Cup was 58.61.

Virat Kohli vs. Pakistan, 2022

In the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli’s 82 off 53 balls against Pakistan was honored as one of the most remarkable innings in T20 cricket history. When he led India to an amazing win in the final over. Kohli never knows when he’s beaten. 

The 113 runs that Kohli and Pandya put on for the fifth wicket to steady their innings and extend the game proved to be a critical partnership. Six fours and four sixes were included in Kohli’s 82, not out off 53 balls.

Virat Kohli vs. South Africa, 2024

What a way to sign off. Virat Kohli played his last T20 World Cup with a great innings and helped India win the match. However, he scored 76 runs in 59 balls, hitting 2 sixes and 6 fours. India was in trouble at the beginning, but Kohli’s runs helped them reach a good total of 176. India won the match by 7 runs. 

Kohli said after collecting the Man-of-the-Match award that it was his last T20I match for India. Virat Kohli is the man for the big occasion.
