The RR Kabel Prime Volleyball League, powered by Scapia, returns for its fourth season on October 2, 2025, at Hyderabad’s Gachibowli Indoor Stadium. Organised annually by Baseline Ventures, PVL is India’s premier men’s volleyball league, now featuring 10 teams after the addition of the Goa Guardians, a move that has pushed the league’s valuation to ₹500 crore.
Season 4 is PVL’s most global yet, featuring stars from over 10 countries. Defending champions Hyderabad Black Hawks signed Brazilians Paulo Iury Lamounier and Vitor Yudi Yamamoto. Kochi Blue Spikers added French legend Nicolas Maréchal and Canadian setter Byron Keturakis. Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai boast talent from Mongolia, Venezuela, Colombia, Iran, and Norway. The full 10-team lineup also includes Bengaluru Torpedoes, Calicut Heroes, Chennai Blitz, Delhi Toofans, and debutants Goa Guardians.
All matches will be broadcast live on Sony Sports Network and streamed free on the official Prime Volleyball YouTube channel through October 26.
Bengaluru Torpedoes: A Contender Led by Global Experience
American setter Matt West, 32, captains the Bengaluru Torpedoes with over a decade of experience across nine countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, and Finland. His mother represented Peru at the 1980 Moscow Olympics, and his father also played professionally.
West leads a balanced squad featuring American attacker Jalen Penrose and Indian stars Sethu TR, Joel Benjamin J, Mujeeb MC, and libero Midhunkumar Balasubramaniyan. Under two-time Olympic medallist coach David Lee, the team emphasises mindset, in-game analysis, and aggressive play. “This team can surprise a lot of people,” West says, adding that Indian athletes’ raw talent is being refined through strategic discipline.
