Here Are 5 Nutrition Facts You Cannot Disagree With

  • February 16, 2020

In the world of nutrition and associated facts, there are always so many controversies going on. There are things that some people just can’t agree on. Like other things, the world of nutrition is always evolving. With evolvement comes speculations and doubts.

Even though there are so many debatable topics on hand, there are some nutrition facts you’ll definitely agree to. They are:

#1. The “perfect” diet doesn’t exist:

There are many kinds of diets out there, but that doesn’t mean any particular diet is perfect for all.

All people are different, have different body types and react differently to nutrients. Even metabolism plays a role here.

For one a vegan diet may work, for one a paleo and for another, the keto may do wonders. But what works for one does not necessarily mean it will work for the next.

You have to figure out what is good for you by trial and error. But whatever diet anyone follows, what should be common is, consistency.

#2. Vegetables are a must:

Vegetables are super healthy. Some may hate the way they taste, but it should be part of their diets. They provide vitamins, minerals and fibre like no other natural source.

Eating vegetables boosts health and lowers the risk of getting a disease.

They add variety, texture, and flavour to your food. A lot of vegetables are high in water and are low calories.

#3. Carbohydrates that are refined are not good:

A lot of people hear the word carbohydrates and instantaneously have a negative thing to say about it. Carbohydrates that aren’t refined are not bad for you. On the other hand, refined carbohydrates are bad for you.

Unrefined carbohydrates comprise of rice, wheat, whole-grain, beans and more. Refined carbohydrates are sugar and flour.

These should be avoided the most. They contain very little nutrition value and it would be like consuming empty calories. Having said that, an excess of anything isn’t good for you.

#4. Supplements aren’t to be thought of as food replacements:

Supplements are there to help in addition to your existing diet. This means you can’t, rather it shouldn’t replace the natural sources of things like vitamins and minerals with supplements.

One must eat foods rich in vitamins and minerals and should take the supplement only if the amount they are consuming isn’t enough.

This applies to athletes and other high performing people. They need a lot of vitamins and minerals in their body and shouldn’t at all rely only on supplements.

#5. Added sugar is a silent killer:

To enhance the taste of food and even as a preservative, sugar is added to a lot of foods, especially processed foods.

Sugar is termed as empty calories as it has no nutritional value whatsoever. It is best to consume foods and fruit that naturally contain fructose (sugar).

Adding sugar to food is one major reason people get obese. It lows puts you at risk of getting an illness or disease.

These are some facts that have been proven and should be followed by all. Make sure to include these in your lifestyle to lead a better and healthier life.

Avoiding these facts can be harmful to you, especially if you want to lead a healthy life which is illness free.
