In the shortest format of the game, spinners are an easy target, but Spin bowlers in IPL have been every batsmen’s nightmare.
This format is introduced to attract more audience towards the game. People were getting bored with the long formats of the game. T-20 was a revolutionary step to save the prestige of the game. And after the introduction of the Indian Premier League, there was no looking back. IPL is also popular for its flamboyant style of the game where batsmen play unorthodox shots and leave the audience flabbergasted.
But there are some spin bowlers in IPL who are giving tough time to the batsmen.
Amit Mishra
He is the only player in the history of IPL who has a hat-trick of hat-tricks. He was introduced in the first edition for the Delhi Daredevils where he took a hat-trick against the Deccan Chargers in 2008. Then he played for Deccan Chargers and took a hat-trick against the Kings Eleven Punjab. And his third hat-trick came against the Pune Warriors for the Sun Risers Hyderabad.
Piyush Chawla
This bowler from Uttar Pradesh has a unique record attached to his name. Piyush Chawla has never bowled a no-ball in his entire IPL career. In the pressure situations of the IPL, it is very difficult to maintain such record. Over the years Piyush has a player for many teams in the IPL but now his place in the Kolkata Knight Riders seems to be fixed as he is representing the team eighth time in a row.
Yuzvendra Chahal
This skinny boy made his debut in the 2013 edition where he played only one match. But in the edition of 2015 Chahal proved his worth and took 23 wickets. This was the turning point of his career as soon after this he got chance to play for the national team. He knows a lot of variations and confuses the batsmen. A spinner attacking with the new ball is not everyone’s cup of tea. But under the guidance of Virat Kohli, Yuzvendra has mastered the skill. Currently, he is in the top form of his career and is taking wickets for his team.
Rashid Khan
He comes from a land where cricket is not a way of life. But it is his passion which makes Rashid Khan what he is today. In Afghanistan, there are no facilities to play cricket but still, the country is producing talents like Rashid Khan. He is currently playing for the Sun Risers Hyderabad and is an integral part of the team. His variations are enough to make the batsman think twice before he makes an attempt. He can be termed as a T-20 specialist because Khan plays a lot of leagues around the world along with his national team. His current T-20 ranking is number one.
Sunil Narine
The name needs no introduction as he is known as the king of spin. This West Indian magician made his debut in 2012 for KKR. At that time no one had a clue what he is capable of. But in the very first chance, this man proved his talent as he took 24 wickets in that edition. The thing which makes him different from the other bowlers is his economy rate, which is just 6.44 in the toughest cricket league in the world.
